You will craft a mystery set on a fog-laden harbor dock, where a missing suitcase leaves only damp traces and a trail of brine-cold questions. - Every clue should be touchable, scuffable, or smearable. If you can’t wet it, stain it, crease it, or pocket it, it’s not a first-act clue.
- End your scene with a visual turn tied to the suitcase: an impression in the wood that doesn’t match its wheels, a tag that belongs to another port, a sound that means what you feared is already on the water.
Writing Tip
Treat fog as a character with moods and motives. It hides, reveals, steals edges, and returns things changed. Let it edit your sentences—short when the fog is thick, longer as it thins.
